Day 2- Sightseeing – Bhaktapur Durbar square – Transfer to Nagarkot
Today we explore the medieval kingdom of Bhaktapur. Lying a few kilometers from Kathmandu proper, Bhaktapur is one of the valley’s medieval cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The old city is divided into three squares Taumadhi Square, Dattareya Square and Durbar Square. Each square houses ancient pagoda temples and structures from the Malla era. As vehicles are not allowed inside these squares, it’s a joy to walk through the cobbled lanes of this old city. Nyatapole Temple, Palace of 55 Windows, Dattareya Temple, Golden Gate etc. are some of the cultural gems of this old city.
After exploring the medieval city we take a scenic drive to Nagarkot, one of Nepal’s honeymoon hotspots. After reaching Nagarkot we check into our hotel and call it a day.
Day 3- Sunrise view from Nagarkot – return via Patan Durbar square
Lying on a mountain ridge, Nagarkot offers commanding views of the Himalayan peaks. We wake up early to catch the sunrise over the Himalayan peaks. It is a beautiful sight to behold and to share this with a loved one makes the moment more special. After breakfast we drive back to Kathmandu. In Kathmandu we explore the royal seat (Durbar Square) of another medieval city Patan. Patan Durbar Square houses the Patan Palace(now converted into a museum), Krishna Temple, Golden Temple etc. The durbar square is a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Evening, enjoy a complimentary traditional Nepali feast and a lively Nepali cultural programme.
