Tour Details

This tour takes you to Sindhupalchowk one of the hilly districts in Nepal that lies close to Kathmandu. Sindhupalchowk saw large scale destruction during the 2015 earthquake, with several villagers losing their lives and arable land to landslides. Lying on the Nepal-Tibet border, Sindhupalchowk is a natural haven with verdant mountainsides, quaint villages, pristine rivers and cascading waterfalls dotting its landscape. Amidst this natural beauty, the inhabitants are now trying to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives, trying their best to eke out a living. In order to help them in their efforts, Incentive Holidays is trying to revive rural tourism in this part of Nepal. This program is just one of Incentive Holidays initiative to help the local villagers. By picking this tour you will not only get to experience Nepali village life but you will also help boost the local economy. Day 3- Drive to Sindhupalchowk (3-4 hours)

After an early breakfast we drive to Sindhupalchowk. Lying close to Nepal-Tibet border, Sindhupalchowk lies just a couple of hours drive from Kathmandu. Driving north-east on the Arniko Highway, we pass picturesque Newari farms and undulating mountain scenery till we reach Sindhupalchowk. At the village, we will be staying at a local home. After refreshments, we settle down and rest for a while.  Later we explore the village and interact with the villagers.

After an early breakfast we bid farewell to our host and the villagers and make our way back to Kathmandu. En route we visit Bhaktapur, one of the three medieval kingdoms in the valley. Bhaktapur’s pride is the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a royal square that houses some of Nepal’s finest cultural gems. Though the earthquake has partially destroyed some of the ancient structures and temples, rebuilding and restoration work is underway.

After exploring the ancient site, we drive back to Kathmandu.

Evening, enjoy a complimentary traditional Nepali feast and a lively Nepali cultural programme.
