The Kakani village outing is a popular village tour around Kathmandu Valley at 2073m above sea level. This is an easy going short hike close to the Kathmandu valley right on its rims. A scenic drive for an hour north of Kathmandu, Kakani village is the perfect site to explore and get some great insights into Nepalese village culture. The gentle forest hike through oak, rhododendron and pine forest brings us to an interesting trout fish farm. Bird watching and superb Himalayan views make up much of the Kakani village trek. The village tour offers you interesting interactions with the villagers as you learn of their lifestyles, leaving surprised with what life is in this part of the world. The tour is complimented with panoramic views of the Annapurna ranges, Manaslu mountain range, Ganesh Himal range, Langtang range, Dorje Lakpa, Melung-Tse, Gauri Shankar, Furi Cha-Chui, Everest and many other well known peaks. Kakani village Tour is also well known for its Sunset and Sunrise views from the Kakani hill Tower which is truly memorable. We learn so much about the rural life of the Nepalese people on the rims of the Kathmandu valley. In spring hikers can see the blossoming of rhododendrons along the ridge of the Shivapuri National Park during the trek. In the months of March and April, one can enjoy a whole blast of colorful hills full of Rhododendrons and orchids blooming along the side of the trails. Shivapuri National Park has long been the country’s treasure for an abundance of flora and animal wildlife.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)
Arrival Kathmandu at the Tribhuwan International Airport where you will find our representative awaiting your arrival with our office vehicle to pick you up and drop you to your designated hotel. Your first overnight in the valley of temples.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Kakani (1982m, 29km)
After breakfast, we drive from Kathmandu to Kakani & trek to Aaledanda along the ridge of the Shivapuri National park area. This is a pleasant hike amid all the surrounding greenery and the cacophony of merry birds that will accompany us throughout this short rim hike. Overnight at a friendly village home with all meals
Day 03: Kakani to Shivapuri (2563m)
Trek Aaledanda to Shivapuri through the forest. This is a lush green forest, home to a lot of rare birds. As we hike along, we get lovely views of the Langtang range of mountains through a peaceful environment that makes us think of all the good things in life. We bunk out at a village lodge with all meals locally prepared.
Day 04: Shivapuri to Dhap
Trek Shivapuri to Dhap along the ridge between the Himalaya and the Shivapuri watershed. The mountains greet us from the northern side (left side) and we hike slowly to gain height. The summit of the hill welcomes us with fascinating views. From here the way leads through forest and 3 hours of flat trail which brings us to Chisapani. The route we follow is quite smooth and we observe numerous green hills and villages at some distance. Moreover, we head along a path through forests where we can enjoy the delightful sounds of chirping birds. Dhap is an uncultivated field surrounded by beautiful forests. We stay at a village home for the night with locally served meals
Day 05: Dhap to Nagarkot – 5-6 hrs
Trek Dhap to Nagarkot between forest and lively villages. Our trek to Chauki Bhanjyang takes about 2 and half hours. We continue hiking the delightful trails which leads us towards the quiet romantic hill town of Nagarkot. Nagarkot, (2175m) is by far one of the most popular destinations in Nepal, especially among honeymooners. It commands sweeping views of the Himalayas. Five of the world’s ten highest peaks, Everest, Lhotse, Cho-oyu, Makalu and Manaslu are visible from here. Nagarkot is also a famous spot to watch stunning sunrise and sunsets. The snow peaks look especially beautiful during sunset and sunrise. Nagarkot, surrounded by terraced hillsides and chocolate box farm houses, is the essence of the perfect escape – with only the wind and the sound of rustling leaves to disturb us. Bird watching is a joy in the forests hereabouts. We sleep out in village lodges for the night and enjoy local meals.
Day 06: Nagarkot to Kathmandu and Kathmandu valley sightseeing tour.
After experiencing a mesmerizing sunrise and a delicious breakfast, we Drive back to Kathmandu and enjoy a Half day Kathmandu valley sightseeing tour of three places:
Kathmandu: Swayambu Nath Stupa, the famous hindu Temple of Pashupatinath and buddhist pilgrims of the Bouddhanath Stupa, which attracts thousand of Buddhist pilgrims throughout the year. Overnight at our hotel
Day 07: Final Departure from Kathmandu for that lovely place we call ‘home’.
